Northern Aggregates, Inc. (NAI) has an excellent aggregate supply, principally from Harris Quarry. Precision crushing, screening and washing machinery produce strong aggregates that can meet rigorous state and federal project specifications. We produce standard products including those meeting Caltrans and/or American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specifications are available such as asphalt mineral aggregate, facing stone, rip rap, chips, aggregate base, shoulder backing, PCC grade aggregates, sand, backfill, and more. Various specialty products can also be produced at customer request.

Construction aggregate or simply “aggregate” is coarse particulate materials such as sand, gravel, crushed stone and recycled concrete. Aggregates add strength to composite materials such as concrete or asphalt. Aggregates are also used extensively in drainage applications and as base material under foundations, highways, railroads and dams.

Stone quarrying is the multistage process by which rock is extracted from the ground and crushed to produce aggregate, which is then screened into the sizes required for immediate use on roads and construction projects. For some projects, the rock requires further processing or sizing, such as size of product and adding a special coating.
